Longing, treatment & loss

Infertility & the fertility journey

Infertility is often a deep, quiet grief — a longing that takes up more space than words can hold.

Wherever you are in the journey — in the middle of fertility treatment, after a loss, or slowly coming to terms with a life that will look different — you are welcome. On your own or as a couple.

What therapy can help with

  • Carrying the longing for a child, without letting it take over everything
  • The pressure and swinging emotions of fertility treatment
  • Grieving pregnancy loss, miscarriage and repeated loss
  • Living with the uncertainty between attempts and results
  • Speaking about what is hard to say aloud — envy, guilt, hopelessness
  • Finding footing if you are facing the question of when to stop

Typical concerns

  • Primary or secondary infertility
  • Fertility treatment in the public or private system
  • Miscarriage, stillbirth and late-term loss
  • Repeated losses and complex treatment paths
  • Egg or sperm donation, and the solo mother journey
  • Living on without the child you longed for
  • A relationship under pressure during a fertility journey
  • Grief over the family life you had imagined

How I work

I meet you quietly, without an agenda. We move at the pace you can be with, and there is space for all the feelings that are often hard to acknowledge: anger, envy, hopelessness, guilt, hope. My approach is existential and warm. We don't work to make the longing go away — we work so that you don't have to carry it alone.

Who this is for

Therapy here is for anyone living with infertility — alone, as a couple, as a solo mother, or as someone slowly coming to terms with a different life. See also the page on grief therapy if you have experienced pregnancy loss.

Frequently asked questions

When does it make sense to seek therapy during a fertility journey?

There isn't a right time. Some people come before the first treatment; others after a loss, or when the process starts to drag on. You are welcome when it becomes too heavy to carry alone.

Can we come as a couple?

Yes. Fertility journeys often put a couple under a kind of strain that is hard to speak about at home. We can meet individually or as a couple, whichever works.

I have had a miscarriage — is that something you work with?

Yes. Pregnancy loss is often an invisible grief that the world around us doesn't always hold. There is real room for it — even if it happened a long time ago.

What if we're facing the question of stopping?

It is one of the hardest decisions many couples face. We don't work towards a particular answer — we work so that you (or you both) can find a decision you can live with.

I'm becoming a solo mother — is this space also for me?

Yes. The solo mother journey carries its own particular layers of courage, loneliness, joy and existential questions. There is real room for all of it.

Can we meet online?

Yes. Many people appreciate the flexibility, especially during intensive treatment cycles.

How much does it cost?

See the Fees page. The intro call is free.
