My approach

How I work

I don't believe people need to be fixed. I believe we grow when someone is willing to stay with us — quietly, respectfully — in the parts of life that are hard to hold on our own.

My work is existential and phenomenological. That means we begin with what is actually happening in your life and in your body — not with a theory about what should be happening. There are no forms to fill in, no diagnoses to earn, no formula I am trying to apply to you.

What existential therapy really means

Existential therapy takes seriously the givens of being human: that we love and we lose, that we have to choose without knowing the outcome, that we are ultimately alone in our own skin, and that meaning is something we have to make rather than find already made.

It's less about symptom management and more about learning to live with — and sometimes through — what is genuinely difficult. In practice this means slower conversations, room for silence, and a willingness to sit with questions that don't have neat answers.

What a session looks like

  • A 60-minute conversation, in central Copenhagen or online
  • No agenda except what you bring — some sessions are full of words, others make more room for silence
  • Space to feel more than one thing at once — grief and relief, love and anger
  • Confidentiality: nothing you say leaves the room
  • A shared sense, at the end, of what might be useful to sit with until we meet again

How a course of therapy usually unfolds

There is no fixed length. Some people come for three or four conversations during a particular chapter. Others stay in touch over months or years, meeting more or less often as life asks for it. You are never tied to a commitment — we talk openly about how it is going, and you decide.

Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly at the start. As things settle, many people move to a slower rhythm — every three or four weeks, or on an ad-hoc basis when they need a place to think out loud.

Principles I work by

Unhurried

We never move faster than you can be with. Slowness is part of the work.

Warmth without agenda

I am not trying to steer you towards a conclusion. I am here to stay with what is actually there.

Existential lens

We look at meaning, choice, freedom, belonging — and at what it is like to be you, right now.

Discretion

Full confidentiality, in both languages. Receipts in English available for international insurance.

Who this approach tends to suit

  • People looking for depth rather than a quick fix
  • People navigating grief, illness, transition, or a slow-burning existential unease
  • People who value being met as a person, not treated as a case
  • Expats and internationals who want to work in their own emotional language
