When life turns a page

Life transitions & identity

Sometimes it isn't a single event but life itself that changes — and the question quietly becomes: who am I now?

Life transitions can be long in the making or arrive suddenly, but they always touch something fundamental: identity, belonging, meaning. Here, there is room for the existential questions, without needing to reach neat conclusions.

What therapy can help with

  • Finding footing when what was familiar falls away
  • Living with doubt in the middle of big decisions
  • Grieving the life you didn't get — and trusting the one that is coming
  • Getting clearer about what is yours and what you have lived for others
  • Beginning again, even when that wasn't the plan
  • Making meaning in a new chapter of life

Typical concerns

  • Separation, divorce and the life that follows
  • Career change, job loss or loss of professional identity
  • New parenthood — early or later in life
  • Empty nest when children leave home
  • Menopause and changes in body and identity
  • Retirement and the transition into a new chapter
  • Existential questions: meaning, choice, freedom, aloneness
  • Life crises without one clear cause

How I work

I work existentially. We look at what you carry with you, what you might be ready to let go of, and what may slowly want to emerge. We speak about meaning, choice, freedom and belonging — without pressure to arrive at particular conclusions. Here you are allowed to be in the transition, not just get through it.

Who this is for

This therapy is for you if you are in the middle of a decision, landing after a big change, or only just now sensing that something has shifted. You are welcome whether or not you can put a finger on it, and even if you only notice a restlessness you cannot quite name.

What you can expect

  • A free 15-minute intro call so we can sense whether we're a good fit
  • A calm 60-minute conversation about what is moving — in central Copenhagen or online
  • No agenda beyond yours. We move at the pace that feels right for you
  • Full confidentiality — nothing you share leaves the room
  • A flexible course of therapy — a few sessions or ongoing support

Frequently asked questions

Is this a life crisis, or am I just uncertain?

The line isn't sharp. What feels like uncertainty for one person is a deep existential crisis for another. You don't need a diagnosis to seek therapy — only a sense that something needs room.

Can you help if I'm in the middle of a separation?

Yes. Separation is one of the largest life transitions many people experience. There is grief, anger, relief, guilt and a whole new everyday life to invent. Here there is room for all of it.

I'm approaching retirement and don't know what to do with the time.

The transition into retirement touches identity, meaning and how we are in the world. It is a very common reason to seek existential therapy — even when life looks settled from the outside.

Do I need to arrive with a specific question?

No. Many people come with a restlessness, a sense, a doubt. We find the words together.

Is it dangerous to open up the big questions?

We never move faster than you can be with. There is a real difference between opening up and being pushed. The room is unhurried, safe and without an agenda.

Can we meet online?

Yes. You can choose sessions in central Copenhagen, online, or a mix of both.

How much does it cost?

See the Fees page. The intro call is free.
